The Black Heart of Kali (Italian: Il cuore nero di Kalì) is the twelfth episode of the first season (The Tiger of Malaysia) of the animated series, Sandokan.
Sandokan, Yanez, Marianne, Kammamuri and Ada relax at Tremal-Naik’s house in the Indian jungle before setting off again. Ada still senses the shadow of evil on her, and Yanez is upset, for he has lost his “zuk,” his lucky coin that he cannot live without. He takes Tremal-Naik’s boat, and returns to Rajmangal, where he remembers losing it; there, not only does he find his zuk, he finds also an even more mysterious object: a large black stone.
When Yanez returns to Tremal Naik’s house, there is something strange about him that makes Sandokan suspicious. When Yanez leaves the house during the night, Sandokan follows him, and is almost killed. Yanez awakens from his trance-like state, and they understand what has happened: Suyodhana is still alive, and he had taken possession of Yanez’s mind through the black stone, the “Black Heart of Kali”.
Thanks to a yoga exercise that sends her astral body flying over the jungle, Ada finds Suyodhana, and traps him. Sandokan confronts Suyodhana, and after a fight that tests Sandokan’s strength and prowess to the limit, Suyodhana disappears in the churning waters at the foot of a waterfall.
