On the Edge of the Abyss (Italian: Sull'orlo del baratro) is the twenty-third episode of the first season of the animated series, Angel's Friends. It was originally broadcasted in Italia 1 on November 11, 2009.
Synopsis[]
It is time for the tournament of Light and Darkness at the Challenge Room's arena. Arkhan and Temptel allows the Orb of Destiny that was recently replaced by a false orb by Reina to match up the angels and devils that will battle to win points for their team. The last competition is for the teams to battle. The winner of the tournament has to send an opponent home from the Golden School, never to return. During the battles, each Eternal (student) learns to use new powers. The orb matches Miki and Gas, Sweet and Cabiria, Uri and Kabale, then Raf and Sulfus.
At the end, the team that receives the most points will send home a member of the losing team. Arkhan and Temptel inform the Eternals that during the tournament, some of them had discovered new powers. The first challenge (from a post-apocalyptic video game-like setting) was won by Gas, which defeats Miki with his new power, Magnetic Force and also Cabiria with her pet black panther uses her new power that was called, Hypnosis so that she can defeat Sweet.
