James Brooke (known as The White Rajah in the second season, The Tiger Roars Again and Iron Hand in the third season, The Two Tigers) is the Governor of Labuan and the main antagonist of the animated series, Sandokan.

Background[]

He is a character born with his transformation from the Governor of Labuan to the leader of a band of dangerous criminals. From the former governor, he has preserved a military air, a subtle intelligence, astuteness, and cruelty.

He is a character completely dominated by ambition, in fact he wants to regain power. But above all, he wants to destroy Sandokan, his only true and main enemy as well, the one who has brought him to his knees, humiliating him to his most vulnerable point: his pride. His objectives are clear that vengeance, revenge, anger and hate are his feelings. Sandokan is his obsession and the convicts are his instrument.

Actually, he despises them and doesn’t hesitate to sacrifice them for his own personal aim. Ushitora is his deputy and he detests his proverbs, but respects his cruelty and cynism. He has always had a soft spot for his niece, Marianne because of her rebellious character.

Physical Appearance[]

In the second season, The Tiger Roars Again, he has his face covered with a porcelain white mask, with two slits for the eyes but not for the mouth. He wears a black military uniform with long jacket and trousers, with a clear belt holding a big revolver and black big boots. The hair are covered with a black turban that he was also known as the White Rajah.

In the third season, The Two Tigers, his face was furrowed with horrible scars, has grey hair, wears black clothes, and has a stump mounted by a knife blade instead of his right hand like a cyborg that he was also called, the Iron Hand.

Personality[]

James Brooke is astute, cruel, intelligent, cold, ruthless, villainous, sadistic and calculating, whose one obsession certainly seems to be power. Ruthlessly, and with great hypocrisy, he uses people by exploiting and manipulating their weaknesses. He has no affection, and is absolutely cynical and deranged. He abuses his position as Governor of Labuan for his personal advantage, believing that every man can be bought and led to betray whatever he holds dearest.
