Hypno is the offspring of Kaa from The Adventures of Mowgli, and Simba The King Lion. She is introduced in Simba Jr. Goes to N.Y. and the World Cup.
Hypno's most prominent characteristic is their ability to hypnotize any character by staring at them, represented onscreen by Hypno's "eye beams". Once under hypnotic suggestion Hypno can get them to divulge any information or perform any action for a short period of time.
Introduction[]
Hypno makes a quick impression in Episode 4, when they use their hypnotic powers to convince Arbor to tell them the location of the Magic Mantle (The cape of invisibility), and also to bring all the jungle kids to New York to rescue their parents.
Hypno uses their power on at least 3 other occasions. Once one the leader of the Dark Tails Rat Gang, once against an opponent during a soccer match, and once on The Canary to cover up a night out on the town.
Hypno appears to be morally ambivalent to the use of this power and is not above using it for purposes that might be considered "cheating" or "dishonest", such as using it in a tournament (although to be fair there appears to be little to no rules other than not causing injury in the Animal Soccer League), or using it to effectively lie about sneaking out at night.
Hypno doesn't get much development beyond this trait, but they can be seen to be cold and calculating, skeptical of things they don't see (like Catsper), and one of the wayward bunch, hanging out with the like's of M.J. and Catsper on their nightly escapes. Whatever you do don't let this little snake trap you in their eye beams.
Gender?[]
Despite having a female voice and long eye lashes, Hypno is referred to by "he", much like Winner was in King Lion despite also sounding female (later changed to a more boyish voice in Simba Jr.). However "he" gets used almost constantly, including in one instance with Light, with "she" pronouns used extremely rarely, suggesting there might be a dubbing issue.
