Expedition to Maracaibo is the second episode of the animated series, The Black Corsair.

Plot[]

Crossing the forest, our buccaneers meet a boy, Moko, the one who had previously already helped the two runaways leading them to a boat. He decides to join the Black Corsair in the adventure, and before they set off, offers them some food and drink in his hut, and also a very alcoholic drink distilled from a tropical fruit. This drink is particularly appreciated by a little monkey that had taken refuge in the Black Corsair's hat as they crossed the forest.

Because of its combativeness, this little fellow is accepted with a toast as an official member of the pirates of the Tortuga; because of its fondness of alcohol, it is named Rum. Van Stiller is left behind to guard the Spanish prisoner in Moko's hut, together with the Iguana and the Cormorant, which are the colored boy's two inseparable companions.

The Black Corsair, Carmaux, and Moko arrive in Maracaibo in the evening. They warily cross the little town and arrive at the main square, where they see the gallows with their mates, and the Red Corsair still hanging. The Black Corsair swears to avenge them.
